Jen's visit

Jen came to visit Memorial Day weekend! She flew in Thursday night and left Monday morning so we had lots of time to hang out and explore Boston.

Thursday night we went to a party at Crush, a really cute boutique in Beacon Hill. Of course it started pouring rain as soon as we were ready to leave. I'm not kidding about it raining every time I have visitors. Anyway, we had fun and did our part to support the store. Then we went to dinner at Harvard Gardens and made it out for one drink before we realized we're old and can't hang on a Thursday night.

I had to work on Friday, but met Jen for a late lunch and some shopping on Newbury Street. After all the shopping we were hungry for dinner so of course we decided to get cupcakes. A new cupcake shop, Sweet, opened in my neighborhood so we met up with Erin to try it out. It was such a cute place (they even had Willy Wonka playing on a big screen). But at $4 a cupcake I don't think it will be a regular stop.

Not the best picture because I took it with my phone. I didn't want to be that blogger who takes pictures of everything and posts every detail. Oh wait...

Saturday morning we walked around the North End. We got coffee at my favorite, Boston Beanstock.

Then we came back to my neighborhood for EarthFest and a free Cracker and Cake concert! So old school and so much fun. And apparently Cake has a new album coming out.

Our neighbors at the concert. There is a group of kids in Boston that dress up as zombies. They walk around the city carrying signs that say things like 'Zombies are people too'. They don't do anything...they don't try and scare people...just walk around like zombies. So strange. Yes, I did recently read a series of books about vampires and loved it. No, I don't want to join their group.

Then Saturday night we went to dinner and went out. I can't remember where we went for dinner...this is why I shouldn't wait a month to blog about something.

Sunday we went to brunch at Bouchee. Then Jen and I went to the Arboretum. I had been wanting to go for a while and it was a perfect afternoon for it. We took books and magazines, but ended up taking a nap in the grass. It's so different from the Dallas Arboretum but just as pretty.

We had dinner and went to bed so Jen could get up at 2am for her flight--yikes. Thanks for coming to visit, Jen. I had a blast!
