Well, as Benton says, "Life is funny and God likes to keep you guessing." As most of you know, after months of thought, prayer and preparation my little brother, Benton, decided to join the Marines. But things changed quickly on February 12, Benton's birthday, coincidentally--he blew out his knee during training exercises.
After a week of physical therapy they decided Benton would have to come home while it heals. He may go back in the fall, but for the timebeing he has found a new job in Sales for Donor Direct. He's moving back to Dallas even though he swears he hates Dallas. :)
I have the same feeling I did when I was a teenager and used to argue with my parents. I mean that one time I argued. :) After fighting for your point and then getting your way, you can't really enjoy it. But for someone whose life just took a 180 Benton is handling it all well. Thanks for your prayers and I will keep you updated.
And because it's starting to seem like I have only one brother... Bobby is still working at PineCove as a Conference Director. But he dreams of a career in sports. So if anyone knows of any dream jobs hit me up!

elizabeth! i've been living vicariously through you in boston. i've tried to make myself move there several times...for college, for residency...but i just can't do it. please smile (showing all your teeth) at everyone on the sidewalk---it warms my heart just to think of their freaked out expressions!
So glad I found your blog!! I love Boston and I'm so jealous that you're living there now!!!
Rat - FYI, I just bought Sophie Kinsella's newest book. It was on sale at Target so I decided to take the plunge even though it wasn't paperback yet. I'll bring it to Boston!
