I finally found my camera cord, but of course the software cd to download the pictures is still packed up in Dallas. And we're so high tech now that I forgot it's possible to download pictures somewhere else. So after a trip to Kinko's, here's what I've been doing the past couple of weeks...
I went to NYC with my friend, Erin, a couple of weekends ago. The great thing about being on the east coast is that everything is so close! We had heard about this bus that takes you from Chinatown in Boston to Chinatown in New York. For $30 roundtrip. I was literally picturing a sketchy bus with chickens and knockoff Gucci's piled high. How else can they transport you at that price? But it was actually a decent bus and we made it in one piece. But then we heard that those buses crash a lot in bad weather. Greyhound is looking like a much better option next time. But here are some pictures from our day trip.
Fifth Avenue, of course
Central Park
I had just put my camera up when Chris Rock and family walked right past us. By the time I got my camera back out they were across the park and walking away from us. But if you squint you can tell who it is.
And we had to end the day at Tasti DLite. It took forever to find this place (even though we walked by it several times). We asked several people and they had no idea what we were talking about. Apparently, New Yorkers aren't quite as obsessed with Sex and the City as we are.
The weather has been amazing the past couple of weeks and I'm trying to take advantage of it now! I love walking around the city and exploring new neighborhoods. I haven't been to the gym once since I've moved, but I'm getting a better workout just walking everywhere. And the 4 flights of stairs I have to climb everyday is better than any stairmaster. Although, wouldn't you think that the stairs might get a little easier each day? Hasn't happened yet. But here are some pictures of the city.
The Public Garden

walking to Cambridge
And this past weekend Erin and I decided to drive up the coast and see a few of the small towns. We got in the car and took off. And then we decided where to stop. It was a perfect, laid-back Sunday afternoon. We stopped at Manchester by the Sea, Gloucester and Rockport. And here are the pictures.
And I may have found an apartment today (third time's a charm?). Stay tuned for that update. I know you're all on the edge of your seat... ;)
